UK, France and Canada can't wipe Palestinian blood off their hands
As the situation in Gaza becomes dire by the day the UK, France and Canada are trying to get onto the right side of history but simply fail to hide their duplicity.
The leaders of United Kingdom, France and Canada issued a toothless statement earlier this week regarding the situation in Gaza, entitled “Joint statement from the leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Canada on the situation in Gaza and the West Bank”
Whilst on the surface it may seem like a step forward but scratch beneath the surface it is full of duplicitous political double talk. History will not forget the active support given to Zionism for the last 18 months. A statement or two, a few meetings or even sanctions will not wipe away the blood from the hands of the enablers of genocide.
Below is what it really means the text of the statement is taken directly from the UK government website.
We strongly oppose the expansion of Israel’s military operations in Gaza. The level of human suffering in Gaza is intolerable. Yesterday’s announcement that Israel will allow a basic quantity of food into Gaza is wholly inadequate. We call on the Israeli Government to stop its military operations in Gaza and immediately allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. This must include engaging with the UN to ensure a return to delivery of aid in line with humanitarian principles.
Such carefully selected language , words such as “oppose” “intolerable” “inadequate”. These words are nothing more than political speak for stop making us look bad.
We call on Hamas to release immediately the remaining hostages they have so cruelly held since 7 October 2023.
Not sure what October 7th has anything to do with the medieval siege tactics employed by the Zionists. Notice the language change to words such as “cruelly”.
The food blockade was described as “intolerable” that is a description of what the Palestinians are going through NOT a description of what the Zionists are doing. In fact in the whole statement there is no judgement passed on the Zionists at all.
The Israeli Government’s denial of essential humanitarian assistance to the civilian population is unacceptable and risks breaching International Humanitarian Law. We condemn the abhorrent language used recently by members of the Israeli Government, threatening that, in their despair at the destruction of Gaza, civilians will start to relocate. Permanent forced displacement is a breach of international humanitarian law.
Repeated reference is made to International Humanitarian Law, a laughable concept that has been ignored for decades by the very countries making the statement. Think Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Think the children handcuffed and shot as per the Panorama program earlier this month. Think not only ignoring a genocide until now but actively supporting it , arming the Zionists and providing moral cover in the name of “self defence”.
Israel suffered a heinous attack on October 7. We have always supported Israel’s right to defend Israelis against terrorism. But this escalation is wholly disproportionate.
Again the language is emotive going back to October 7th as if to say there is justification for killing children. It’s like a slave apologising to its master for what it has been forced to say. October 7th is “heinous” however the murder of 50,000 people is an “escalation” and “disproportionate”.
We will not stand by while the Netanyahu Government pursues these egregious actions. If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response.
A plea to Netanyahu to stop the genocide so the West can save some moral face. No idea what concrete response means, if history tells us anything it means nothing concrete will happen. Any movement from here on will be in the interests of the Western powers and not for the sake of the Gazan children it is a little too late for that.
We oppose any attempt to expand settlements in the West Bank. Israel must halt settlements which are illegal and undermine the viability of a Palestinian state and the security of both Israelis and Palestinians. We will not hesitate to take further action, including targeted sanctions
Translated to “we watched Louis Theroux and its not good optics, can you please stop expanding settlements until this all blows over”.
We strongly support the efforts led by the United States, Qatar and Egypt to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. It is a ceasefire, the release of all remaining hostages and a long-term political solution that offer the best hope of ending the agony of the hostages and their families, alleviating the suffering of civilians in Gaza, ending Hamas’ control of Gaza and achieving a pathway to a two-state solution, consistent with the goals of the 18 June conference in New York co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. These negotiations need to succeed, and we must all work towards the implementation of a two-state solution, which is the only way to bring long-lasting peace and security that both Israelis and Palestinians deserve, and ensure long-term stability in the region.
Translated this reads “Did you see Donald Trump, he got a $400 million jet, he had dancing girls , he had pomp and ceremony, no one invited us. To get our foot in the geopolitical door we are now trying to be relevant and propose a two state solution. A solution where the Zionists can blockade, starve and kill forever and more. A solution which will legitimise the occupation of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa. Get rid of Hamas means nothing because blockading food aid for children has nothing to do with Hamas.
We will continue to work with the Palestinian Authority, regional partners, Israel and the United States to finalise consensus on arrangements for Gaza’s future, building on the Arab plan. We affirm the important role of the High-level Two-State Solution Conference at the UN in June in building international consensus around this aim. And we are committed to recognising a Palestinian state as a contribution to achieving a two-state solution and are prepared to work with others to this end.
Israel is a “partner” and so is the Palestinian Authority but there is no talk about the people of Gaza and what they want. Who would want to live under the shadow of a Zionist super state after what has transpired in the last 18 months. Who would trust the deal making of a world that has left Gazan’s to be eliminated for 18 months? Where has the Palestinian Authority been throughout the last 18 months? The people of Gaza want peace and security and only Islam can provide them with that. It is time for the Muslims to look after their own it is clear no other powers care.
Once again the Western rulers make the decisions for the Muslims whilst our rulers sit on oil riches and gift out Jumbo jets.
